One of Michigan’s best-known casinos, the Gun Lake Casino Resort in Wayland, has minted a new big-time winner, with the casino paying out a third $300,000-plus jackpot over the past five months.
The news was confirmed by the property, the senior VP, and general manager Brian Desorah, with the latest winner scooping their prize on the Ultimate Texas Hold’em game.
This is the first time in 2026 that a table game jackpot of this size was paid out, with the previous two six-figure prizes paid on slots, and both exceeded $500,000.
That the property had two slot winners of this magnitude is not surprising, as the Gun Lake Casino Resort has more than 2,500 slot machines, offering players an ample choice.
According to Desorah, the current three jackpots won in five months mark the “hottest” streak that he has seen in the gambling industry in his three decades of experience as an insider.
