Arizona Bark Scorpion Strung Another Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino Visitor

Another visitor at Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino has been stung by a scorpion and is now considering legal action. The sting happened in December, several months after the other sting at the same property that GamblingNews recently reported.

A Second Sting Has Occurred at the Same Property

A few days earlier, GamblingNews reported that a visitor to Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino was stung by an Arizona bark scorpion. This incident was first reported by 8 News Now, which spoke with the victim, Sulaiman Lutale, who was considering legal action.

Shortly after this, another casino guest reached out to 8 News Now to report that she was also a victim of a similar sting. The woman was Linda Culler, from Montana, who was visiting the hotel in December.

While Lutale got stung on his arm while preparing his bed sheets, Culler was stung on her bare foot while walking in her room. 8 News Now understood that the sting was also done by an Arizona bark scorpion.

Arizona bark scorpions are the most venomous scorpions in the US. Their stings cause intense pain, twitching muscles, difficult breathing and, in extremely rare cases, even death.

The Woman Believes the Hotel Should Be Held Accountable

Although there are only a handful of documented cases of a fatal sting in history, the intense pain of a scorpion sting is definitely not what a person is looking for. In Culler’s case, the sting came just as she was preparing for a flight.

The woman told 8 News Now that she had decided to stay at Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino due to the fact that it was cheaper and its proximity to Harry Reid International Airport.

Culler didn’t immediately take care of the sting and it started to swell during the flight. She eventually developed a fever and had to visit a hospital once she returned to Montana. Then, she was unable to walk for two days due to the pain and swelling.

Culler believes that the hotel should be held accountable for its seeming lack of sufficient pest control measures.

In the meantime, people considering a visit to Las Vegas shouldn’t get discouraged, since such cases are usually extremely rare. Scorpions are usually bad climbers, with Arizona bark scorpions being an exception.

Previously, a visitor to The Venetian sued the property due to a similar sting. In that case, the man received a sting to his private parts, causing him even greater pain. To make matters worse, he got mocked by the casino resort’s employees, causing him further distress.
